Anne Leggett, LPC
Welcome! I admire your courage in seeking help for the challenges you’re facing right now. I am a licensed professional counselor with nearly 20 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families. I hold a master’s degree in counseling from Longwood University in Virginia. My specialties are anxiety, depression, maternal mental health, and relationship issues. You have come seeking relief and, as we get to know each other, I can help you better understand your symptoms and learn ways to improve your life and relationships with others. I love the work I do and I firmly believe that everyone, including you, has in them the ability to grow and change to achieve the life they imagine for themselves.
If you are overwhelmed with stress, anxiety, or depression that negatively affects the way you live, work, and relate to others, I can help. If you are concerned about your relationship with your spouse or significant other, even if they are not interested in getting counseling, I can help. If you are a parent struggling to understand your teen as they transition to adulthood, I can help. I use a variety of approaches based in family systems theory, cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy and mindfulness. I may challenge you with assignments to raise awareness of negative patterns and opportunities to practice new, healthier ways of living and relating to others. Once we identify what you’d like to get out of the counseling process, we can then identify specific strategies to help you meet those goals. I provide a safe, non judgmental, supportive space for you to share openly as you implement these strategies and make the changes you desire to achieve a happier, more fulfilling life. I look forward to working with you!
